We worked with the City of Marysville to update its successful Downtown Master Plan, which we had created in 2009. The updated plan includes recommendations for land use, economic development, housing, transportation and utilities, done in conjunction with a new form-based zoning code for an expanded downtown subarea. Our project team pivoted to an all-online engagement strategy due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, creating an interactive map to provide an open platform for community ideas and discussions and to share information about completed and planned infrastructure projects.
Outcomes
- Reduced code barriers to new development and improved design guidance
- SEPA planned action EIS for downtown
- Targeted opportunities sites for redevelopment
- Missing middle housing in downtown neighborhoods
